Tools to keep track of Credits

Expanse is designed to make managing your Credits as simple, transparent, and fair as possible. This document outlines key features that will help you track your Credits, monitor usage patterns, and optimize your budget.

Context Breakdown Bar

The Context Breakdown Bar provides a real-time overview of your token usage, Credit consumption, and available context in your Thread. Located in the bottom right of the chat box, this feature helps you monitor and manage your conversations and prompts.

Hover over the bar to see:

1. Chat Tokens - Tokens in your current chat box (before sending)
2. AI Role Tokens - Tokens in your Role
3. Thread Tokens - Total number of tokens in your Thread (including all previous messages and Roles in the conversation)
4. Estimated Query Cost - The amount of Credits that will be spent based on the Chat and AI Role you have in the chat box (before sending)
5. Max Context Window - An overview of the max context window for the model that you are using and a percentage estimate of how much you have left

You may see that an estimated query cost is displayed even when your chat box is empty. This is because each message sent to the AI includes your Role and Thread content.

Usage Dashboard

The Usage Dashboard provides detailed analytics of your activity on Expanse.

Accessing the dashboard:

1. Click your profile icon in the bottom left corner
2. Select Settings from the dropdown menu
3. Click on Usage in the sidebar

Dashboard Features

Activity Metrics

Monitor your platform usage across multiple timeframes:

• Daily, weekly, monthly and yearly activity
• Usage averages for each timeframe

Usage Analysis

Gain insights into your activity through visualizations of:

• Breakdown of AI models
• Breakdown of Input/output tokens

Token Statistics

View comprehensive token usage metrics:

• Total tokens consumed
• Input tokens used
• Output tokens used
• Daily token consumption

Credit Statistics

Track your Credit usage with detailed breakdowns:

• Total Credit consumption
• Input Credits used
• Output Credits used
• Daily Credit expenditure

Activity Logs

The Activity Logs provide a comprehensive record of your interactions with Expanse, including detailed token usage and Credit costs.

Accessing Activity Logs:

1. Click your profile icon in the bottom left corner
2. Select Settings from the dropdown menu
3. Click on Logs in the sidebar

Log Details

Each entry displays:

• Timestamp of interaction
• AI model used (e.g. Claude Sonnet 3.7, GPT-4o)
• Token count breakdown (input/output)
• Cost of message in Credits
